This 1997 M3 coupe is a great example of the E36 chassis! Very well kept and includes over 60 service receipts dating back to 2003. It currently shows ~125k miles and includes a number of desirable bolt-on modifications detailed in the description below. This car has just received a complete reconditioning including brake fluid, caliper rebuild, front lower control arms, power steering hoses, oil change as well as machine polishing and wax. This vehicle is offered with a clean, Ohio title.
'Cosmosschwarz-metallic' Black paint shows very well and has just been machine polished and waxed. All VIN stickers on each body panel are correct and in place as documented in the photo gallery. There is no rust present on any exterior body panels, and the underbody shows no damage or excessive corrosion. Notable flaws: Paint chip/peel on bumper near drivers side bumper/fender. Paint chip at rear edge of hood on passenger side. See photos.
Featuring manual 'vader' sport seats in black leather, the interior on this M3 is all original and shows well for the age. The leather seating surfaces are free from rips and tears. Some wear on the driver seat bolster can be seen. -The audio system is the optional 'HK' system and remains stock, with a CD changer mounted in the trunk. -The headliner has been re-upholstered to fix sagging issues typical with E36 BMW's
Upgrades include Bilstein struts with H&R lowering springs and ground control camber plates, as well as Turner Motorsport Sway-bars and adjustable UUC rear control arms. -The wheels are style 24 'LTW' in a staggered setup, 17x7.5Fr and 17x8.5Rr, while the tires are BFGoodrich A/S Comp plus in a square fitment of 235/45/17 with a 2018 date code. -A previous owner added the chassis stiffening brace that was standard on E36 convertible models for additional body rigidity. -The front shock towers have been inspected with the struts removed and show no signs of cracking or mushrooming, see photos in gallery. -The rear shock towers have been inspected with the struts removed and show no signs of cracking or mushrooming, see photos in gallery. -The rear sway bar mounting tabs on the rear subframe are in good condition and show no signs of cracking, see photos in gallery. -The rear trailing arm bushing (RTAB) mounts are in good condition and show no signs of cracking or corrosion. -The brake calipers have just been rebuilt with fresh seals, caliper bushings, and new ATE brake fluid, stainless brake lines were installed by a previous owner. -Brake Pads and rotors are in nearly new condition. -New front lower control arms as well as offset 'lollipop' bushings have just been installed
The S52 engine is mostly stock, upgrades include a cold air intake, aluminum thermostat housing and water pump, as well as an A&A tuning cat-back exhaust system. The transmission shifts smoothly and does not grind between shifts or require excessive effort to put in any gear.
